The MILR cohort is incredibly tight-knit. Students in the program are highly supportive of each other – in an academic, professional, and social context. The MILR program is a well renowned and internationally recognized premium degree that promised to introduce me to, and strengthen my foundation in the field of Human Resources. I can safely say that the program has not just met my expectations, but delivered significantly beyond it.
The ILR School of Cornell University is the leading college of the applied social sciences focusing on work, employment, and labor policy issues and practices of national and international significance.

MILR by the Numbers
When I decided to go back to school, I had three goals. One, gain knowledge that was directly applicable to my career path. Two, walk away with a job. Three, leave with as many doors open as possible. I can definitely say that all 3 of my goals were achieved. There is no program that will expand your horizons, and set you up for success the way the MILR program does. Everything they advertise is true: the academics, the network, the experiences, and the friendships!
From the wide array of companies that come to campus seeking MILR graduates to join their organizations to the alumni in leadership roles that return to Cornell to pass on their knowledge and experiences, the caliber of the program speaks for itself. I can't imagine being anywhere else!

"Discover MILR was a turning point in my decision to enroll in the MILR program at Cornell. Before attending the event, I was considering several graduate programs but was having a difficult time making a final decision. However, after attending Discover MILR, I was convinced that the MILR program was the perfect fit for me. The event provided a comprehensive overview of the program, including its curriculum, opportunities for internships and careers, and the experiences of current students and alumni. It was also a great opportunity to visit the campus and meet with faculty, staff, and current students, who shared their perspectives and insights on the program. The speakers were knowledgeable, passionate about their work, and spoke candidly about how the program had impacted their careers. Their stories were inspiring and helped me understand the resources the MILR program could provide to set me up for success and help me achieve my career goals. Moreover, Discover MILR allowed me to connect with my future cohort and peers, who would have now become some of my closest friends and colleagues. We bonded over our shared interests and experiences, and I was struck by the diversity of backgrounds and perspectives represented in the group. It was everything I was looking for in a community dedicated to improving the world of work. Discover MILR was a valuable and memorable opportunity for me to gather information about the program, meet my peers, and develop long-lasting relationships. I am grateful for the experience and would highly, highly recommend it to anyone considering enrolling in the MILR program!"

Professor Chris Collins will provide students with a sample of a typical MILR class experience. While each course and faculty members have their own style, MILR courses typically have a blend of lecture, exercise, role plays, and case study methodologies as a means to build student knowledge and opportunities to practice application of the knowledge to real world settings. This session draws heavily on course content and a case study from the HR Leadership course taught by Professor Collins. Students will have the opportunity to engage in a case study and discussion to get a glimpse of what it would be like to take a MILR class and interact with their peers in the program.
